Another hot topic is function players. This sport was built for SCI's and they're slowly losing their grip on the majority group of the sport. How do you think the league should handle this? Tell them to get off our lawn? Change the classification system? Do nothing?
I know you're dying to tell me, so do it. DO IT.
I see what you're saying now, I get it. I think it would work. We need some of those "get them out of my sport" people in there, where they at?
That's the point-- The 4.0 class is simply the "new" 3.5 class. No additional functionality added
Not a bad start, but adding a 4 class opens the door to people with so much more function. I would keep current 3.5's grandfathered in as 4's and then keep 3.5 the limit for any new players.
I have a quick and dirty solution that I think could hold the sport over until a classification rewrite happens.
Step 1: Any player who does not have a neurological impairment (normal sweat response, normal HR, normal blood pressure) gains an additional 0.5 onto their sport class.
Step 2: Add a 4.0 class. This is simply so we do not class out current functional 3.5 players.
This change would be a first step to maintaining relevance for traditional SCI players.
What do you think?
